Germany’s leasing company Alpha Trains and engineering company Talbot Services have entered into a long-term strategic framework agreement. This collaboration aims to enhance the management of train fleets and optimize workshop capacities to provide operators with more commercially attractive options for rolling stock maintenance, modernization, and overhauls.

Alpha Trains has secured dedicated capacity at Talbot’s Aachen site for a range of services. These services include overhauls, exterior repainting, redesign work, and ETCS retrofitting. The leasing company stated that their long-term commitment, combined with the pooling of fleets across various customers, would ensure reliable project delivery, shorter response times, and consistently high-quality standards. This approach also strengthens their ability to offer integrated leasing and maintenance services. Overhauls and modernizations are planned at an early stage to prepare rolling stock for future deployment and develop economically attractive leasing models throughout the lifecycle.

Talbot Services benefits from this agreement as it allows for a reliable workload, enabling more strategic planning of resources and investments. Bernhard Holzer, Managing Director of Alpha Trains Europa, commented on July 23, ‘With this co-operation agreement, we are elevating our long-standing partnership with Talbot to a new strategic level. We are creating genuine added value for our customers: greater planning certainty, short response times, and economically attractive solutions throughout the vehicle lifecycle.’
